Genital Herpes During Pregnancy
Getting infected with genital herpes during pregnancy is fraught with serious danger for the child; colposcopy and cone biopsy are not the options for treating herpes, as they are used for genital warts.
But others may suffer serious neurological damage, mental retardation or death. About half of infants who are treated with antiviral medication escape permanent damage. When infants do contract neonatal HSV, the results can be tragic.
