Genital Wart Diagnosis
A genital wart diagnosis does not rely on a Pap smear alone, but requires further dianostic procedures for HPV confirmation.
Although the condition is not curable, it is possible to manage it. Eliminating the visible signs of HPV reduces the chance of transmission, while boosting the immune system and suppressing the virus will lesson the recurrence and severity of outbreaks.

Pap Smear, HPV
An exam by a physician will determine the prescence of HPV. The physician may detect subclinical infections by applying a weak vinegar solution to the area, making the lesions visible. HPV cannot be cultured and serologic tests are not available to for testing of HPV antibodies. A genital wart diagnosis does not rely on a Pap smear alone, but requires further dianostic procedures for HPV confirmation.
