Condyloma acuminatum usually occurrs on the mucous membranes or skin of the external genitals or in the perianal region; although they are usually few in number, these lesions may aggregate to form large cauliflower-like masses. It is a lobulated hyperplastic epidermal lesion with a horny surface caused by a human papillomavirus, transmitted by contact or autoinoculation, and usually occurring on the dorsa of the fingers and hands, face, and genitalia.
